Introduction
The Gore and Districts Community Counselling Centre Inc (GCC) services the Eastern, Central, Northern Southland and Southern and West Otago communities. GCC is a non-government non-profit organisation with charitable status.
 
The Centre provides a wide range of counselling, therapeutic, and educational services including: Alcohol and Other Drug counselling, A & OD focus groups, Relationship counselling, Working with Families, Anger Management Programmes, ACC counselling, Child, Youth and Family (CYFS) counselling, EAP,  SEED, OCP, Family Court Counselling, Land Transport Assessments, Stopping Violence programmes, Women's groups and Men's groups.
 

The Gore Counselling Centre provides free Alcohol and Other Drug counselling through funding by the Southland District Health Board. This includes a weekly A & OD focus group facilitated by Mary Takaura, Diane Johnstone and Margaret Gillan.

The ethos of the Centre is to provide counselling, therapy and educational programmes to as many people as possible without turning people away due to a lack of funds. The Centre will continue to pursue a funding umbrella when there are no other funding options available.
 
An Executive committee governs GCC. The Executive is made up of volunteers from the local community, both town and country. The Executive is committed to the quality and delivery of counselling and therapeutic services to the community of Eastern Southland.
